Cold spell continues in Chiang Mai, affecting 30000 households

CHIANG MAI, Jan 26 – A cold spell continues in this northern province, affecting over 30,000 households, with the low temperature measured at 8° Celsius in Chom Thong district.

Following Chiang Mai’s 25 districts being announced as disaster zones due to cold weather, Siripannee Boonmalik, a senior official of the Chiang Mai disaster prevention and mitigation office, said the temperature in Omkoi district was measured at a low of 9° Celsius, Chiang Dao at 10°C, Fang at 11°C, and the provincial seat at 15°C.
