Kanchanaburi dams ‘fine’ after quake

An earthquake registering 2.9 on the Richter scale in Thong Pha Phum in Kanchanaburi on Friday night did no damage to Sri Nakarin or Vachiralongkorn dams in neighbouring Sri Sawat district, officials said yesterday.

Vachiralongkorn Dam assistant director Dilok Thanosawan affirmed that the dam was unaffected by the quake, which was centred 37 kilometres away.
