Yingluck Shinawatra instructs all ministries to review strategies against southern violence

BANGKOK, 14 August 2012 (NNT) – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has asked all ministries to adjust the plan to tackle the southern unrest by the National Security Council (NSC) for use and instructed the Bureau of the Budget to help facilitate the installation of security equipment in the region.

Government Spokesperson Sansanee Nakphong said PM Yingluck had informed the Cabinet of the government’s solutions to the southern violence before the weekly meeting began today. The premier then called on all ministers to revise the NSC’s action plan on the southern conflict to be more strategic and urgently send their feedback to the council upon completion.

Ms Sansanee added that PM Yingluck had also assigned the Bureau of the Budget to adjust its plan on the management of the leftover budget in order to properly use the amount for the installation of necessary security equipment in the Far South.
