Myanmar seeks Thailand’s cooperation after bomb attacks

CHIANG RAI, March 24 — Myanmar authorities have coordinated with their local counterparts to seek cooperation from Thailand in tightening security at the Thai-Myanmar border following two explosions at a hotel near the border town of Tachilek, according to a senior Thai army officer.

Col Thanadpol Kosaisawee, commander of special forces of the 3nd Cavalry Regiment’s Phamuang Task Force in Chiang Rai told reporters that the two bombs exploded at around 7am at a golf course of a hotel in Tachilek, two kilometres from the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge at the border checkpoint of Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district.
