Pattaya to attract foreign tourists from new markets

BANGKOK, 29 January 2012 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Pattaya Office aims to attract tourists from new overseas markets in response to the expansion of real estate businesses and the opening of new tourist sites in the country.

TAT Pattaya Office Director Attapol Wannakij stated that the targets of its promotional plans for the first quarter of 2012 include both domestic and foreign tourists.

In the domestic market, the TAT would maintain Pattaya’s image as the travel destination for youths, office workers and families, who are looking for fun and diversity. The city’s main selling points still remain in its sandy beaches, the wide range of activities, and the low-cost traveling.

Regarding its promotion plan in the international market, the TAT would be launching campaigns in India, Turkey, Eastern Europe and countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). It will also be participating in the upcoming International Tourism Exchange (ITB), the world’s largest travel and tourism trade fair held in Germany.

Additionally, the city of Pattaya will gradually launch new tourist attractions in 2012, such as the Miniature Thai Royal Barge Performance Center. Meanwhile, top travel destinations, like the Pattaya Floating Market, are still expected to be the main selling points of the city.
