BANGKOK, 25 July 2011 (NNT) – The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has filed a lawsuit against former Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin and others involved in the illegal purchase of fire apparatus in 2004.
Appointed by the NACC, lawyer Sitthichoke Sricharoen traveled to the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions to submit a 15,000-page report for the 6.6 billion THB fire truck and boat procurement case.
Among those being indicted are former Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin, former Interior Minister Pokin Palakul, former Deputy Interior Minister Pracha Maleenont, former Deputy Commerce Minister Wattana Muangsuk, former Director of the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department Police Major General Atilak Tanchukiat and Austrian firm Steyr-Daimler-Puch.
