NARATHIWAT, July 3 – Two election officials were wounded Sunday, ambushed as they were transporting ballot boxes by car in insurgency-impacted Narathiwat’s Si Sakhon district, while a bombing occurred in Ruso district in the afternoon.

Two election workers, one identified as Boonting Wanthongsang and the other unidentified, were shot by gunmen hiding along the road in Si Sakhon. The victims were in a vehicle transporting ballot boxes from Polling Station 2, Constituency 4 en route to the Si Sakhon district office.
