Thai people returning home for Songkran Festival

BANGKOK 10 APRIL 2011 (NNT)- People have been gradually returning to hometown during the long weekend holidays of Songkran Festival, making bus terminals nationwide active with human and vehicle traffics.

The bus terminal in Hat Yai , Songkhla province is crowded with a large number of passengers traveling from Bangkok Metropolis in order to celebrate Songkran Festival with their families. Tickets have been booked in advance, which have made all trips fully booked between 14-17 April. But authorities at Hat Yai bus terminal insist that sufficient transportation will be arranged for the passengers. As for Hat Yai Railway station, people were forming long queues, since the southern railway station has already resumed its usual operations, with 1st and 2nd classes fully booked during 11-18 April, except 3rd class and free train.
