Thai anti-government protesters to hold rally Sunday

BANGKOK, April 9 — Anti-government protesters of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) will hold a major demonstration in Bangkok on Sunday to commemorate colleagues killed in a clash with government troops exactly one year ago at Khok Wua intersection on Ratchadamnoen Avenue.

UDD “Red Shirts” core leader Jatuporn Prompan, also a party list MP under the opposition Puea Thai Party, and the group chairwoman Thida Thavornseth told two senior Bangkok police officers, including commander of Metropolitan Police Division 1 Pol Maj Gen Wichai Sangprapai, during a meeting that the rally would start at about 3pm and ends at 2am Monday.
