BANGKOK, 11 March 2011 (NNT) – Thailand is found to provide the highest opportunities for women to hold executive positions in private organizations compared with others in the world, according to the 2011 annual business report of Grant Thornton.
45% of the Thai executives are found to be women, which is the highest in the world. Following Thailand in the ranking are Georgia with 40%, Russia with 36%, Hong Kong and the Philippines with 35%.
On the other hand, countries providing the least opportunities for women to work in executive posts are India, the United Arab Emirates and Japan, where women account for less than 10% of the total number of executives.
