NTC is confident “Number Portability” coming soon in Thailand

BANGKOK, 9 November 2010 (NNT)-The National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) has said the Number Portability service will be in full operation sooner than previously announced, from December 15 to December 5th.

Following the recent progress report, the NTC has disclosed that service providers including AIS, DTAC, TrueMove, and CAT Telecom are now ready to operate up to 80% of the service, although they have yet to test the service among themselves.

However, a fine of 166,667 baht per day will be imposed on each provider that can’t deliver the service on December 15, as agreed earlier. The fine will be imposed until it begins the service.
