BANGKOK, Sept 24 — Another in a series of explosions jarred homeward bound Bangkok commuters late Friday afternoon, the first to take place during the rush hour, adding to the sense of unease that the blasts that have jarred the Thai capital recently.
Three passersby were injured — two schoolgirls and an older man –by the small explosion, an apparently intentional bomb hidden in a trash bin on Rama 3 Road, Soi 29, a crowded residential area with a number of factories.
Police said the initial investigation found a standard large green plastic trash bin demolished in front of a home. The explosion, which occurred during rush hour around 5pm, injured two girl students who were passing by.
