Local authorities have begun the search for 4 middle-eastern men and a motorbike taxi driver wanted in relation to the attempted robbery of a Bangkok Bank ATM in Pattaya on Tuesday morning.

Pattaya, the 18th of August 2010 [PDN]: The Bangkok Bank ATM facility near Soi 6/1 on Pattaya’s Beach Road was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The offenders, who gained access to the ATM’s rear by braking into a neighbouring shop, fled the scene empty handed after an alarm was triggered while they were attempting to use welding equipment to gain access to the cash storage compartments.

During subsequent investigations, the Pattaya police have identified the offenders, 4 males, being of middle-eastern appearance and having used a silver Toyota Vios in the attempted robbery. Three men were reportedly involved in the operation to gain access to the ATM maintenance room and adjoining mini-mart, while a fourth man stood guard at the front of the building.
