Belgian firm to invest 82 million dollars in Thai solar farm

Bangkok – Belgium-based Enfinity NV has announced plans to spend 82 million dollars to build a 40-megawatt solar farm in Thailand this year, media reports said Friday.

Martin Parodi, head of Enfinity’s Asia-Pacific unit, told a seminar Thursday that the company planned to spend 300 million dollars on solar projects in Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea in 2010 and look for new investments in Malaysia and the Philippines in 2011, the Bangkok Post reported.

“We are investing in Thailand as the first country in Asia,” Parodi said.
