Authorities stated that the raid was initiated on the orders of national police chief Pol Gen Kittharath Punpetch, following a tip-off about drug use in “upper-class” circles. Police entered the hotel suite through a back door around 12:30 a.m., where they discovered dozens of men, most wearing only underwear and reportedly engaged in sexual activity.
Law enforcement officials confiscated a range of items from the scene, including a small quantity of illicit drugs such as methamphetamine, meth pills, ketamine, and liquid ecstasy. Also seized were Viagra, syringes, drug paraphernalia, a significant number of condoms and lubricants, and 30 bottles of amyl nitrite, an inhalant commonly known as “poppers.”

Pol Maj Gen Teeradej Thumsutee, deputy chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, revealed that the raid was prompted by an undercover officer—described as a muscular, well-built man—who had infiltrated the LGBTQ+ party scene. He further noted that the event was allegedly organized by the same group apprehended in a similar operation in the Thong Lor area last December.
