Bangkok Man Surrenders After Wife Found Murdered in Parked Car

BANGKOK – A 36-year-old woman was found murdered inside a parked car outside her townhouse in Bangkok’s Bang Khae district on Monday evening, prompting a tense three-hour standoff that ended with her husband surrendering to police.

The grisly discovery was made around 8 p.m. on Soi Phet Kasem 67 in the Lak Song area. Emergency responders and police arrived to find the woman dead in the driver’s seat of a white car, which was oddly positioned, blocking the road with its engine still running. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back of the head and a stab wound to the body.

Police quickly identified her 40-year-old husband as the prime suspect. Believing he was hiding inside the couple’s home or nearby, officers cordoned off the area and began negotiating his surrender. After three hours, he emerged peacefully and was taken into custody for questioning.

The couple had been married for more than ten years and shared three children. Neighbours described the family as quiet but were alerted by the unusual positioning of the car. The alarm was raised earlier in the evening when a teacher tried and failed to reach the victim’s mother to pick up the children from school, indicating that something was wrong.
