PATTAYA, Thailand — A shocking scene unfolded in the early hours of May 18, 2025, when a naked European tourist went on a violent rampage in Pattaya’s Naklua district, forcing authorities to intervene in a dramatic confrontation.

The incident began around 12:30 AM when Banglamung Police received multiple distress calls from residents reporting a completely nude foreign man behaving erratically and shouting incoherently on Naklua Road, Soi 9. Police and Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Rescue Team volunteers rushed to the scene, where they found the man wielding a chair and a stone, smashing property and resisting attempts to calm him.

According to a rescue volunteer, the tourist had escaped from a nearby hospital in the Pho Naklua Market area before the rampage began. Authorities had briefly detained him, but he broke free and began hurling objects at bystanders and emergency responders.

“He was in a completely crazed state, throwing stones and swinging a chair at us,” the volunteer said. After a short struggle, a combined effort from police and rescue personnel subdued the man, who was then taken to Banglamung Police Station for evaluation.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the man’s identity, nationality, or the reason for his initial hospitalization. Investigators are working to determine whether drugs, mental health issues, or another medical emergency contributed to the outburst.
