Thai government warns against illegal use of laughing gas

The government has issued a warning against the use and illegal sale of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, following reports of its increasing presence in entertainment venues. Authorities have urged the public, including tourists, to avoid inhaling the gas, which can cause oxygen deprivation, dizziness, respiratory failure, and nerve damage. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to severe neurological conditions and, in extreme cases, death.

While nitrous oxide is legally used in medical, food, and automotive industries, its recreational sale is strictly prohibited.
