Government urgently helps rice farmers

BANGKOK, 2 November 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Commerce has expressed confidence that the governments assistance for rice farmers will result in increasing rice price, saying that it will urgently help them sell rice domestically and internationally.

Permanent Secretary for Commerce Wibunlak Ruamrak said the government’s assistance measures were aimed at distributing rice and easing rice farmers’ worries. She ensured that the measures would not distort rice price in the market but would help raise the current rice price to be close to last year’s.
