BANGKOK, 3 October 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has insisted that the government will be able to keep the current flooding in the country from becoming a crisis while asking people in affected areas to facilitate water management efforts.
Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha commented on the flood situation caused by heavy rains in many areas, admitting it has been difficult for the government to execute flood prevention measures as planned, especially in low-lying areas. He elaborated that there have been a number of residents in downstream provinces who fear damage on their farm crops and refuse to allow irrigation officials to release water into their communities.
