BANGKOK, 29 September 2016 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has traveled to the United States to take part in the ASEAN-US Defense Ministers Summit where is set to discuss maritime security cooperation, peace-building and regional security.

Gen Prawit remarked before departing for the US to join in the ASEAN-US Defense Ministers Summit running today to October 2 that the gathering reflects the ASEAN region’s strategic partnership with the US. He let on that the meeting will likely expand on conclusions made at a prior special summit between the bloc and the United States.
