Numerous weapons seized from passenger van drivers at Victory Monument

Numerous weapons ranging from wooden batons to gun were seized from passenger van drivers when a combined force of police and soldiers swooped on nine locations of van queues around the Victory Monument yesterday.

37 drivers were arrested when a 200-men strong force conducted simultaneous raids at the queues where over 160 vans parked at these locations to provide services to passengers.
