AIS and CAT Telecom to pay fines to NBTC

The Supreme Administrative Court has overruled the ruling of a lower court that will spare two mobile phone service providers from having to pay a hefty fine to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission for their failure to keep records of pre-paid phone usage.

The two service providers, Advance Info Service (AIS) and CAT Telecom, separately took the case to the Administrative Court, asking the court to revoke the NBTC’s order dated May 30, 2013 imposing a fine of 80,000 baht per day on the two companies for their failure to keep records of their pre-paid phone usage.
