PM says he won’t fire Bangkok governor with his special powers

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has shrugged off a suggestion that he invokes Section 44 to fire Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra for his failure to solve flooding in Bangkok.

He said Tuesday that the governor was elected by people in Bangkok and, hence, it was their duty to keep check on his performance and it was not his business to interfere.
