Russian National Dies in Thailand During Detention: Russia Embassy

BANGKOK, October 6 (RIA Novosti) – Russian citizen Andrei Tsirp, who was on the wanted persons list in Russia on the charges of theft and blackmailing, was found dead Monday morning in Bangkok, Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand, Bangkok, Vladimir Sosnov told RIA Novosti on Monday.

“Tsirp, detained in Pattaya, has been lately held in the infirmary of the immigration police in Bangkok. Yesterday morning, the security guards of the infirmary found him lying unconscious in the cell and called the doctor,” Sosnov said.
