Agriculture Minister warns farmers of insufficient water for crops in 2015

The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives has indicated that the upcoming drought season is likely to be more severe and will last longer than in previous years since the remaining water is dwindling at the four major dams in the country.

Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Pitipong Puengboon na Ayutthaya said after a meeting concerning the prevention and mitigation of droughts that the combined volume of water at Bhumibol, Sirikit, Kwai Noi, and Pa Sak dams are currently at only 6,500 cubic meters, while there is only 400 cubic meters of water suitable for agricultural use.
