NCPO gives nod to broadcasting of satellite TV channels

BANGKOK, 25 May 2014, (NNT) – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has given the nod to the broadcasting of satellite delivered free TV channels while summoning 18 operators of newspapers and magazines to discuss publishing regulations during the coup d’etat. The meeting was scheduled for 2 PM at the Army Club on Viphawadee Road, Bangkok.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army, Colonel Sirichan Ngathong, advised yesterday that the NCPO had already held a meeting with satellite TV operators and decided to lift broadcasting bans on free satellite TV channels, adding however that the ban on 14 other TV stations would remain in effect.
