Pattaya’s authorities have responded to claims that beach operators have been charging unreasonable fees for their services in the run up to Songkran by going to see for themselves.

Pattaya Congressmen, municipality officials and the leader of the beach operators association patrolled Jomtien beach earlier this week. They found one case where an operator had charged eight tourists 700 baht for their deck chairs.
