Chiang Mai soldier died of H1N1 flu virus, not avian flu

An army conscript in Chiang Mai died of the 2009 H1N1 flu virus, not avian flu, according to laboratory results.

The Chiang Mai public health office’s deputy chief Surasing Wisarutrat said a preliminary investigation found that the army conscript had developed flu-like symptoms including fever, cough and shortness of breath, leading to respiratory failure.
