Participants of Bangkok shutdown rally may face charges: Justice Minister

BANGKOK, 6 Jan 2014, (NNT) -The Justice Minister has asked people to think twice before joining the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC)’s planned Bangkok shutdown scheduled for January 13th, pointing out that the move is a serious offence with a 20-year statute of limitations.

According to Justice Minister Chaikasem Nitisiri, the Board of Special Investigation Department earlier charged the PDRC’s core leaders, including Suthep Theugsuban, with sedition: however, none of them appeared at the DSI to acknowledge the charges on the dates set. The DSI would thus have to ask the criminal court to issues arrest warrants for those people.
