“Bangkok Shutdown” campaign rallies to begin on Sunday

BANGKOK, Jan 4 – The anti-government protesters would hold rallies from tomorrow to encourage the public to join the “Bangkok shutdown” on January 13 which is the latest move to pressure the caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to resign.

Akanat Promphan, a spokesman for the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) told a press briefing today that tomorrow at 10am Mr Suthep Thaugsuban, PDRC secretary general, would lead protesters on a march around Bangkok to drum up support for the planned mass demonstration “Bangkok Shutdown” starting from January 13 onward.
