Soldiers evacuate residents from flood-hit remote village in Hua Hin

BANGKOK, Oct 8 – Nearly 200 infantry soldiers and commandos have been dispatched to evacuate local residents from 70 households in a remote flood-stricken Hua Hin village, an army spokesperson said today.

Sirichan Ngathong, army deputy spokeswoman, said villagers in Pa La-u Noi village, Hua Hin district, were cut off after the road leading to the village was deeply flooded.
