Flash floods devastate many provinces of Thailand: DDPM

BANGKOK, 16 September 2013 (NNT) – Heavy downpours over the weekend triggered flash floods and landslides in many provinces including Tak, Phetchabun and Khon Kaen.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported that during September 14-15, many districts in the three provinces were flooded overnight due to continuous heavy rains.

In Phetchabun and Khon Kaen, forest runoffs damaged houses and agricultural land. In Khon Kaen alone, 160 residents were affected.
