Bangkok blast suspect arrested in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT, 18 June 2013 (NNT) – The Southern Border Provinces Police Operations Center has made known that a suspect in the Bangkok Ramkhamhaeng blast has been apprehended in Narathiwat province.

Thirty police officers carried out a raid on a house in Mueang district of Narathiwat, arresting one of three male suspects of the Ramkhamhaeng explosion, identified as Idris Satapo, 24. Police stated that his whereabouts was exposed by another suspect who was arrested earlier.

According to intelligence reports, Mr Idris is linked to insurgent networks in the far South. He is also believed to be involved in a recent bomb attack on a school bus in Narathiwat.
