Thai-Japanese Prime Ministers discuss bilateral relations

Tokyo, 24 May 2013 (NNT) – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe hold a bilateral discussion highlighting the Japanese infrastructure investment and efforts to relieve tensions in the South China Sea and the Korean peninsula.

In her meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister in Tokyo, Miss Yingluck reaffirmed Thailand’s stance on finding a diplomatic solution to the rising conflicts, suggesting all parties concerned use China’s Special Foreign Ministers Meeting in the next few months as a platform to seek a peaceful outcome of the issues. She hoped the talks would contribute to maritime security, enabling the region to become peaceful and a nuclear free zone.
