Nearly 47 per cent of Thais worried about crime

A recent poll on crime and police work found that 46.97 of Thais were worried about crimes, a police said yesterday.

Pol Col Prapon Sahaphatthana, head of the research project, said the Royal Thai Police and the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) conducted the survey. A total of 12,870 people, including community-policing volunteers in the jurisdiction of 99 precincts, took part. The poll said 65.41 per cent of people had confidence in the police.
