BANGKOK, Dec 13 – Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his then-deputy Suthep Thaugsuban formally acknowledged charges laid against them by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) but denied all the charges and rejected a four-point condition which, if signed, exempt them from temporary imprisonment.
The pair were charged with conspiring in the murder of members of the public during the 2010 political upheaval in Bangkok. They were accompanied to DSI headquarters by high-level Democrat MPs including former premier Chuan Leekpai, Apirak Kosayothin and deputy party leader Tavorn Senniem, and Democrat Party lawyers.
