Forest run-off floods 11 villages in Sukhothai

SUKHOTHAI, Sept 15 – Forest run-off triggered by incessant and heavy overnight rain hit 11 villages in Sukhothai’s Si Satchanalai district while the flood zone was declared in five districts of Ang Thong province on Saturday.

The forest run-off affected 700 households and destroyed 1,500 rai (600 acres) of agricultural land. Floodwater in some areas was reportedly 1.50 metre deep.
