Bangkok waterworks agency prepares to handle northern run-off

BANGKOK, Sept 12 – Bangkok’s Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has prepared water purification chemicals and changed its treatment system to manage floodwaters coming from the North.

Chaowarin Kingkaew, MWA deputy governor in charge of water source and water quality, said that northern run-off is moving into the central region and water drainage downstream at the Chao Phraya Dam is currently about 1,800 cubic metres per minute to prevent flooding.
