BANGKOK, 6 March 2012 (NNT) – The Royal Thai Police is in the process of asking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with Malaysian authorities on the extradition of two Iranian nationals allegedly involved in the Sukhumvit bombing incident.

After a meeting to follow up on the investigation into the February 14 bomb attacks in Soi Sukhumvit 71, Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Pansiri Prapawat revealed that one of the bomb suspects, Saeib Morabi, who lost his legs in the explosion by mistake, was about to be transferred to the Police General Hospital to recuperate before an arrest warrant is issued for him.

While waiting for Mr Moradi’s conditions to improve, Pol Gen Pansiri said the investigation officers will coordinate with the prosecutor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to initiate the extradition process with Malaysia for two other suspects, Leila Rohani and Nurozi Zayan Ali Akbar. The duo reportedly fled Thailand to the neighboring country after the explosions.
