Four countries lower terror warning against Thailand

BANGKOK, January 28 2012 (NNT) – Three more countries have lowered their terror alert in Thailand following China’s decision to remove its travel warning.

Out of the 18 nations which have issued the warning, Israel has become the latest nation after China to have lifted its travel warning against Bangkok.

France and Germany meanwhile have lowered their warning level, suggesting their citizens to be on the alert for a terror threat in the deep South only.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is positive that Israel’s removal of the warning should urge other countries to follow suit. The Ministry added that it kept updating other countries on the situation consistently and was ready to ask them to revise their warnings if they are exaggerating.

The travel warning remains on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand but has not been displayed on the U.S. Department of State’s website.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has planned to submit a letter to call on the U.S. Embassy to revise its warning next week.
