Thai Police chief orders nationwide security upgrade for New Year celebration

BANGKOK, Dec 14 – National police chief Pol Gen Prewpan Dhamapong on Wednesday ordered a nationwide security upgrade for New Year celebration in Thailand, particularly at venues holding events, to prevent untoward incidents.

Gen Prewpan said Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubumrung instructed the police to do their best to protect and provide safety to the public during the New Year celebration.
