Travel warning for tourists traveling in Thailand

BANGKOK, 3 July 2011 (NNT) – According to AFP, tourists in Thailand have been warned to be aware and avoid any political rally in Thailand during the period of election, given that the election was held for the first time after the Bangkok street riot of last year.

An Australian Embassy states that there is a potential of instigation that might cause violence during the process of new government’s formation. Therefore, Australian citizens should avoid any street protest or political activity as well as the security officers monitoring the activists.

Meanwhile the British Embassy also alerted people to be vigilant towards the situation, since there still might be a political unrest which could causes violence due to political issues in Thailand.

Moreover, other embassies such as Canada, Ireland, Japan and the Netherlands also prompted people to exercise caution in any political events in Thailand.
