Thaksin: No revenge; national reconciliation is priority

BANGKOK, July 3 – Fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday pledged he would not seek revenge as the Thai people want to see a national reconciliation to push the country forward.

The deposed premier, who is now living in exile in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, was interviewed by media in Thailand shortly after exit polls showed the Pheu Thai Party probably winning over 300 out of 500 parliamentary seats.

Mr Thaksin’s sister, Yingluck, is the top Pheu Thai party-list candidate and is tipped to become the first female prime minister of Thailand.
