The 4th Army will launch an operation to comb mountainous areas of the three southernmost border provinces of Thailand where insurgents have set up bases and training camps for terrorist activities, Maj-Gen Acra Thiproj said on Tuesday.

Maj-Gen Acra, deputy director of the advance headquarters of the Region 4 Internal Security Operations Command, said the operation will be launched from late July to September.
