BANGKOK, 15 June 2011 (NNT) – The Department of Health has warned Thai people not to eat chicken contaminated with formaldehyde and sulphur as the substances could generate cancer in their body.
Health Department Director-General Medical Doctor Somyos Deerasamee said the contaminated chicken could not be consumed although they were cooked well. He said the chicken would remain toxic for human body and could cause cancer.
Medical Doctor Somyos hence suggested that all consumers should carefully select the meat in the market, elaborating that blood spots, smell and pustule must not be seen in fresh chicken.
