BANGKOK, May 4 – His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is recovering well after a successful spinal tap operation on Monday night, the Royal Household Bureau said on Tuesday.

The 41-minute operation late Monday drained excessive cerebrospinal fluid and doctors administered antibiotics for the monarch for one day to prevent infection, the statement said.
