Singapore – More details have emerged about how those involved in the 9/11 attacks conducted ‘dry runs’ in Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong to test aviation security ahead of the devastating strikes in New York and Washington.

The Al-Qaeda operatives surveyed in-flight and ground security systems in the three locations, as well as others, in late 1999 and early 2000 “to determine means by which the group’s operatives could later evade security measures”, according to documents filed in a United States court against five men accused of having organised the Sept 11, 2001 strikes.
