BMA launches Bangkok City TV Channel

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Tuesday launched the Bangkok City Channel (BCC) to broadcast news about Bangkok via True Vision Channel 76 and the C-Band satellite system around the clock.

The broadcasting pilot period would be from April to September, said BMA Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra, it was expected to get some 34 million viewers.

The new television station – which would be run by MCOT PLC and the BMA committee for public relations and publicity – would serve as a channel to inform public about city works and policies, to gather public complaints and opinions and to boost people participation. The channel will air 12 hours of news, 5 hours and 50 minutes of talk shows and six hours and 10 minutes of general knowledge.
