Thai Democrat MP on Hong Kong duty free theft charge

A Democrat MP for Krabi, Sakorn Kiawkhong, is reported to have been arrested in Hong Kong on a charge of stealing from a duty free store, according to media reports, but it is all just a mistake, according to his Democrat colleagues.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said he was stunned by the arrest.

Mr Sakorn is a “wealthy person”, so media reports that he allegedly stole goods from a duty fee shop at Hong Kong international airport were hard to believe.
